Some random events ...

Somewhere in October 2007 (I think) T'ang Quertet came to RP for rehearsals and a performance at TRCC as part of Reflections 2007. Very frenly bunch. The students from E24J were very fortunate to get the opportunity to interview them for T204 - Production Practicum module (EFP).
RP had their Open House in Dec 2007, just before I left for holidays at Bintan and JB. The turn out wasn't dat good, I bet there were more facis and students than visitors ... anyway, it was hard work but fun nonetheless.
During the term break, the students were expected to start production for their short film. Happened to be around during those days when Iqbal, Nabil, Souzanne, Nana and Nicholas were doing their filming. Its very heartening to see these students sacrifice their social life to do their `homework' during the break. Thought the end product was a bit unpolished, I can see that they have the potential to go far if they continuously put in the effort. Souzanne and Nicholas was quite a natural ... Iqbal sounds like C3PO ... Great effort with the props. :)

COMING SOON: Feb 10th - 22nd ... trip to Chiangrai, Thailand for Ecotrail 3.0 service learning trip. The students involved were carrying out some fund raising activities of selling lollipops and can drinks prior to the trip. They also had 2 days of collecting old newspapers and clothings during one of the weekends. We collected around $1,300 in total ... not bad .... Good for them!!!

Bintan Dec 2007

Went to Bintan for 4days 3nights. My eldest brother's family, my mom, my domestic helper and my own family. Nice place ... beautiful beach but damn expensive food. The villa has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a private swimming pool. Not bad for a SGD$300 acommodation for 3 nights instead of paying the actual rate of SGD$800++ per night!!!
Also, u can forget about exchanging SGD for Rupiah coz you don't need it. Most items are in SGD!!! AND its more expensive than in Singapore itself!!!! Geeezzzz!!!
It was raining quite heavily on and off throughout the stay ...
Nevertheless, the kids had so much fun ... Each one of the grown up kids got to drive the private ferrying buggy each villa was equipped with.
Its so unfortunate that the kids only got to take pix on the ATV. Children under 12 years are not allowed to ride it. I was looking forward for the kids to have a go at it but well ... mebbi next time.
Anyway, it was quite a deserving break for all of us ... so just enjoy while it lasts ...
